WA producer Brayden Sibbald is today thrilled to share his latest fusion of dreamy soundscapes and smooth vocals in new single ‘Float’. The track is lifted from his forthcoming debut EP, due out Friday 28th September. Tonight Brayden Sibbald will be playing at Four5Nine Bar in Rosemount in support of the release.
‘Float’ was recorded with Matt Gio (Troye Sivan / Rudimental) at RADA studios. “’Float’ was the first song we worked on together, around mid last year. It’s the title track of the EP, as it’s the most reflective of the central theme of the release – which is that if you are down, you can always get back up. It’s not too late to get help, or help yourself, no matter how hard things may seem.”
Hailing from Dunsborough, a sleepy coastal town in the southwest, Brayden Sibbald is a regular on the wineries and weddings circuit. While he’s used these gigs to hone his performance to a fine art, he’s been quietly developing his own sound – a dark, electronic dreamscape created from sample pads, keys, a drum machine, guitar, and those powerful vocals.
The 23-year-old, who has a prodigious ability to create an entire sonic world from his bedroom, is being compared to the likes of D.D. Dumbo. Just ask producer Matt Gio who, despite working with names like Troye Sivan and Rudimental, says Sibbald’s debut EP is one of the best records he’s ever worked on.
Lead single ‘Baby I Caught Myself’ and current single ‘Float’ serve as a taste of what’s to come from the WA producer.
