Listen: ‘Temporary Love’ by My Brothers And I

Portland-based pop-R&B quartet My Brothers And I have shared their new single “Temporary Love” off their sophomore EP, out on August 17th via Expunged Records. Ones to Watch calls the track, “an irresistible beach jam.” Fans can pre-order the EP HERE.

“’Temporary Love’ is a song that I had the lyrics for since my days in high school,” explains vocalist David Wurgler. “I just saw the world around me and what seemed to be a common theme was some of my friends and people I cared about were going after the wrong people. I had these few friends specifically that were really intelligent girls but just seemed to be choosing dumb guys who they knew were only after one thing. Guys that didn’t really care about them, or about having any sort of real relationship with them. Being sick of seeing that I was inspired to write those lyrics. Temporary Love. It feels like so many people chase around temporary, fleeting love and waste time when they could be looking for the real thing with someone who actually cares about them.”

The band, which consists of Wurgler brothers Erik (bass/vocals), David (lead vocals), and Scott (drums), along with childhood friend Jordan Roach (guitar), released their debut full-length album Don’t Dream Alone in 2015, which led to a feature in Amazon’s “The Next” new artist program. To date, the album has garnered over 10 million streams, with special emphasis on standout selections “Nowhere To Run” and “Scars.” In addition, it received over a dozen syncs for TV programs Queen Sugar and Pretty Little Liars. Several of their songs have also been licensed for commercial campaigns, including “Na Na Na” which received wide exposure in an ad for Clark’s men’s footware. Their various tours and festival appearances have resulted in a number of high profile performances that found them supporting the likes of St. LuciaMisterwivesAllen StoneFamily of the Year, Saint Motel and others.
