‘A Star Wars Story’ Franchise Gets Yellow Carded

Well, after the less than stellar fan reaction to Star Wars: The Last Jedi permeated through to Solo: A Star Wars Story and saw that film under perform, it seems that Lucasfilm are looking to shelve the spin off franchise with reports saying that both the Obi-Wan and Boba Fett films have been put on hold.

Solo: A Star Wars Story would be fueling this more than anything as it cost a reported $250m to produce and has grossed $344m globally. That puts the write down loss for Disney/Lucasfilm in the $70m+ range on the theatrical rollout alone. The weakest of all the new strain of Star Wars films, having only grossed 36% of what Rogue One: A Star Wars Story did, Solo seems to be the wake up call!
