Sydney Film Festival 2018 Announces First Selections!

Sydney Film Festival is thrilled to announce the first sneak peek of films in the program!

Included in the preview are Oscar-nominees and festival winners such as inventive Israeli military drama Foxtrot, moving Afghan animation The Breadwinner and Ziad Doueiri’s thrilling legal drama The Insult.

Other highlights include documentaries such as Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist about inimitable fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, Sundance winner Genesis 2.0 about cloning and the hunt for mammoth remains, and the story of Afghanistan’s only heavy metal band in RocKabul.

This year’s Freak Me Out program kicks off with terrifying British chiller Ghost Stories, starring Martin Freeman, and disturbing murder tale Piercing, starring Mia Wasikowska. And Gillian Anderson’s 1979 masterpiece My Brilliant Career kicks off our retrospectives with a brand new digital restoration.
