Boston Bratwurst Bump duo MOSIE have released their debut full-length album Tangerine, available for streaming & purchase now on Spotify, Apple Music, and iTunes. In support of the album, Mosie will perform at the DMNDR Official SXSW Showcase in Austin tomorrow night with Anna Wise, CAPYAC, Slum Sociable, and Madison Mcferrin.
In a short amount of time, Mosie has gained a remarkable amount of industry praise, receiving rave reviews from Ones to Watch, High Snobiety, Earmilk, All Things Go, Glofi Must Die, and many others. The duo made a splash from the get-go at SXSW by performing with Gramatik on Sunday night, and will be in Austin for the remainder of the week. You can check out a very special video courtesy of Reebok of their first performance HERE. Mosie will also perform tonight on 6thStreet (literally in the street) at 6pm.
Mosie is the savory musical collaboration between Boston-based singer/songwriter Jesse LeVines & musician/producer Aidan Brody. Their sound is best described as a Bratwurst Bump: a rugged sound, with a bold hip-hop backbone, smeared with crisp, tangy vocals, and luscious synth and guitar lines filling in the cracks. They take influence from old soul crooners, 80s disco, and a wide range of hip-hop, scooping them all into the sexiest sundae you’ve ever heard.
Tangerine tells a story of new-age romance and heartache, characterized by Levines’ vivid, dreamy, and sometimes comical narrative. “We filled this album with juicy citrus delight and love for anyone’s ears to enjoy,” says Mosie. “These songs were written by kids for kids with no intentions or expectations, and the thought of being able to share our music is a dream.”
