2017 Emmy Award Winners Announced!

The 2017 Primetime Emmy Awards are done and dusted with diversity and (thankfully) women really shining through. Both the big winners Best Drama and Best Comedy went to female centric shows The Handmaid’s Tale and Veep.

John Lithgow takes the first gong of the night for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for The Crown. Kate McKinnon nabs Best Supporting Actress Comedy Series for Saturday Night Live. Laura Dern picks up the gong for Best Supporting Actress Drama Limited Series – Big Little Lies, the show has alsonabbed Best Director – Jean-Marc Vallee, Best Supporting Actor – Alexander Skarsgard, Best Actress – Nicole Kidman and…. Best Limited Series. Veep handed Julia Louis-Dreyfus her sixth Emmy win and with it breaks the record for the number of Emmy’s won for the same role in a category, it also took Best Comedy Series.

The Handmaid’s Tale took out Drama Series, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress and Directing. All Female Winners!
