Listen: ‘Blood to Give’ by Karl S. Williams

Heading to country NSW, to the town of Woodburn, where the creative musical force Karl S. Williams hails from. His bluesy, trash sound is winning him favour near and far with his new track Blood to Give showcasing it in spades!

Perhaps one of the country’s most honest and mesmerizing singer-songwriters, Karl S Williams is today excited to share his latest musical creation, ‘Blood To Give’. To celebrate the release of the single, Karl will be embarking on a 15-date tour of Australia’s east coast, including appearances at a handful of music festivals along the way including Wintermoon Spring Festival, Caloundra Music Festival, and Bigsound.

Produced and recorded by Matt Redlich (Holy Holy / Ball Park Music / Emma Louise / Husky), the track delivers as another taste of Karl S Williams’ exploration of and passion for honest and real storytelling. “I was very happy to finally work with Matt, a producer who I have long admired,” says Karl. “He imagined a perfect sonic landscape for the song to exist within.”

Talking about the track, Karl explains “Life is hard and unkind to all of us at times, I guess I went digging for suitable metaphors for that experience. In some ways the song is also an address to an industry wherein the sensitive are shepherded inexorably toward the precipice.”

As a creative force striving towards honest, relatable blues that has the power to heal, Karl S Williams aims for his music to strike a chord with those who listen. With ‘Blood To Give’, Karl describes that “There is no malice or self-pity. It is to be played loudly and I hope that if people sing and dance along they will find that their burden is made lighter for a little while.”

Having performed previously at festivals across the country including Bluesfest, Woodford, Bigsound, Dark Mofo, and The Planting to name just a few, Karl S Williams is no stranger to the live circuit. Witness his stunning performances along the east coast this September and October.
