Dropping our toes back in Los Angeles for Canadian ex-pat Adaline and her gorgeous new track Entertainer from her forthcoming album Aquatic. a masterful polish exudes from this track and there’s good reason she’s had music used in some majorly high profile shows and movies. Hugely listenable, an addictive hook in the chorus and the kind of driven pop that gets you hitting repeat pretty quickly!
Los Angeles-based alt pop songwriter ADALINE has released her new single “Entertainer” – the first track revealed from her forthcoming album Aquatic, due out on June 2nd. The track premiered exclusively at The Line of Best Fit, who calls it “exceedingly human.”
A successful and prolific composer of music for film and television, the Canadian-born now LA-based Adaline has had music licensed more than sixty times including multiple songs on Grey’s Anatomy, 90210, Ringer, Lost Girl, Flashpoint and The Samaritan starring Samuel L. Jackson. She also collaborated on the score for the Bret Easton Ellis written film The Canyons with Brendan Canning of Broken Social Scene.
This June, Adaline returns with a new collection of songs aptly entitled Aquatic. Conceptualized on the ocean, it lyrically serves as a metaphoric baptism – that of starting over. Aquatic is a journey through the darker side of love. It speaks to the unending search for real connections in a world where such a notion is riddled with cruel falsehoods and misplaced expectations. “Entertainer” – the album’s first single – has its own story baked in as well.
“I don’t need another person to merely entertain me romantically,” explains Adaline. “I’m looking for a little bravery. I find it a common sentiment in my generation: we’re looking for something just a little more profound.”
In addition to streaming the new single, fans can also pre-order the new album Aquatic on iTunes and Amazon. For more information on Adaline, be sure to follow her on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
