Listen: ‘359’ by Jay Beale

Bristol enters the game with Jay Beale and his electronica splendour of 359. It’s the first cut off his 4 track E.P. of the same name. There’s a real sense of style to Beale’s creations here and signals an artist on the verge of great things.

Bristol boy ‘Jay Beale’ has the perfect creative obsession with writing and producing new wave electronica. With inspiration from British legends ‘The Strokes’ and ‘The Streets’ Jay began writing with a traditional Alt-Rock style from a young age, supporting Pete Doherty (Libertines) in Brixton, London.

Jay’s new four track EP ‘359’ is a stunning collaboration of wiry guitar riffs, off beat drums mixed with unique abstract instrumentals. Jay comments ‘I wanted to create parts that sounded like unique instruments, ones that couldn’t be replicated. I did all sorts of field recording such as using an electro magnetic contact microphone to record my motorcycles rev counter which I used in one of the tracks.’
