Heading back to the U.K. for Leeds based ethereal dreamy pop outfit Dream State and their gorgeous new track Half the World Away.
Emerging Leeds based act Dream Estate have released their dream pop-esque debut single ‘Half The World Away’.
Drawing inspiration from contemporaries including Aurora, Bon Iver and a variety of 80’s pop artists – Dream Estate have spent the early months of 2017 recording a wealth of material alongside Sam Winfield (Fickle Friends, Amber Run, Pixel Fix)
A wondrous first taste into their sound, Half The World Away is an ode to young love thwarted by the perils of long distance. Their emotive lyrics matched with simple guitar and synth melodies present themselves in an infectious dream like state.
‘’ ‘Half The World Away’ is a chapter of a love story in which one’s lover is moving abroad. The song talks about the different emotions you go through when you are about be separated from someone close, learning to deal with the problems when they are away, and reconciling upon their return. It is told from the perspective of someone fearing the consequences of separation and the thought of reminiscing of intimacy with one’s lover when they are gone.’’ – William Tse (Dream Estate)
