Listen: ‘Evaporate’ by The Fontaines

Heading to Los Angeles to touch base with The Fountaines and poptastic new single Evaporate. Bright, effervescent and foot tapping inducing, it’s an assured follow on from last year’s sensational E.P. release ii. Get on board, people!

LA based new-wave rock outfit THE FONTAINES have released their new single “Evaporate,” which Ones To Watch calls “signature new-wave.”

The Fontaines are a brother-sister duo based in Los Angeles, California. Charlotte Fontaine (vocals) and Hank Fontaine (guitar) began writing new-wave influenced rock songs after growing up all over the world as kids. The siblings are backed by Chrystian Kaplan (drums) and Daniel Zuker (bass) live and in the studio.

“’Evaporate’ is about that guy you don’t wanna tell your friends about,” explains vocalist Charlotte Fontaine on the group’s latest effort. “It isn’t love, but both of you keep it going anyways.”

The band is coming off the release of their 2016 EP ii, which received much acclaim in the LA music landscape and landed steady radio play on KROQ’s Locals Only show. They also performed at various music festivals including Savannah Stopover, Canadian Music Week, Broke LA, and Make Music Pasadena. In March, The Fontaines will head down to Austin, TX to perform a handful of official showcases at this year’s SXSW.
