Sean Anders’ 2015 Christmas hit film Daddy’s Home, which starred Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell, smashed $240.4m internationally at the box office. Shortly after its release (and subsequent boon at the box office) a sequel was announced and both Wahlberg & Ferrell confirmed their participation.
News in today has the production sending offers out the Mel Gibson (Hacksaw Ridge) and John Lithgow (The Crown) to join the cast of the sequel. Deadline reports that:
Offers are out and it looks promising, if they can work out the deal. Stay tuned.
That’s a pretty hefty line up of talent for a sequel, wouldn’t you think? One assumes Gibson is to play Wahlberg’s father and Lithgow Ferrell’s.
