2017 Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Announced! Neruda, Toni Erdmann and Elle Honoured!

The 2017 Palm Springs Film Festival drew to a close last night and their annual FIPRESCI Prizes and awards were announced. Maren Ade’s Toni Erdmann picked up Best Foreign Language Film of the Year whilst Pablo Larrain’s Neruda took out the Cine Latino Award and Best Actor in a Foreign Language Film for Gael Garcia Bernal. Isabelle Huppert took out Best Actress in a Foreign Language Film for her turn in Paul Verhoeven’s Elle.

John Schlesinger Award
Winner: “No Dress Code Required” (Mexico), directed by Cristina Herrera Bórquez
Special Mention: “Beauties of the Night” (Mexico), directed by Maria José Cuevas

Cine Latino Award
Winner: “Neruda” (Chile), directed by Pablo Larraín
Special Mention: “Everything Else” (Mexico), directed by Natalia Alamda

HP Bridging the Borders Award
