Listen: ‘I Tried to Leave’ by Dearly Beloved

Time to head to Canada for this punkish rock duo in the form of Dearly Beloved and their cracking new rocker I Tried to Leave! It’s the first single form their  new E.P. Admission that dropped on Jan 12, 2017!

The Canadian garage-punk two-piece have had coverage from NME, Noisey and Alt Press and are pushing on and keeping the rock‘n’ roll flame alive with the primal energy of hardcore punks, Black Flag, the broodiness of Sabbath and the vocal interplay of acts like Pixies and X.

Produced by Daniel Rey (Ramones and Misfits), the album itself, Admission, was recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 666 on the famed, 70s era Neve 8028 analogue console that gave us Nevermind, as well as more than a hundred certified-gold and platinum records. The whole thing was recorded in a – super-quick – 14 days with the duo believing Admission is the closest they’ve ever come to capturing the relentless energy they showcase on tour. They sum up their dissonant, raucous output as “chaos tempered with love and delivered with great fury.’
