A new featurette has dropped for Robert Zemeckis’ Allied which opens on Boxing Day. Starring Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard, the WWII romantic spy thriller shows off how polished the production is and, given the high calibre talent involved, what you can expect from the film.
Although the film bombed in the U.S. (current $39m box office, $85m budget), international prospects are certainly much more robust given the presence of Cotillard and the European/U.K. setting. It’s got a big battle ahead, though, to amass enough to take the production into the black theatrically.
Synopsis: ALLIED is the story of intelligence officer Max Vatan (Pitt), who in 1942 North Africa encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Cotillard) on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Reunited in London, their relationship is threatened by the extreme pressures of the war.
ALLIED releases on DECEMBER 26, 2016 in AUSTRALIA through PARAMOUNT PICTURES
