Documentaries about dead musicians are kicking goasl at the moment with the Oscar winning Amy, genre defying Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck, Searching For Sugar Man and What Happened Miss Simone? all scoring massive points both critically and commercially.
Jumping back into the documentary genre, Kevin MacDonald (One Day In September, Marley) has lined up the unenviable task of mounting a film about Whitney Houston. The project, which is being backed by the production team behind the aforementioned Amy & Searching For Sugar Man, has landed Clive Davis as a source. Davis is the man who discovered Houston and made her an international star.
Houston died on February 11, 2012.
