Made In Melbourne Film Festival 2014 Announces Program!

The 6th annual Made In Melbourne Film Festival which, you guessed it, showcases the film making talent of this great city is set to kick off from November 27th – 30th, 2014. The festivities this year are happening at the Revott Art Space in Kensington.

This years program line up is a cavalcade of short films and features that span the gamut of young film makers right through to fully independent productions and best of all.. They’re all Melburnians!

Here’s a bit about the festival

The Made In Melbourne Film Festival is unapologetically proud.  Our city by the bay has a thriving film community and festival culture and MIM aims to provide emerging and established filmmakers a platform to showcase their work in front of their peers and an appreciative audience.

Now in our sixth year, MIM continues to grow and offer filmmakers fantastic prizes and accolades.  Last year the festival received a record number of submissions and, supported by the Melbourne City Council, was bigger than ever before, expanding to four nights, and screening feature films as well as films by High School students for the first time, along with our usual short film showcase.

This year we will once again run over four nights from Thursday November 27th to Sunday November 30th and screen local shorts, features, and high school films.  We will also introduce a few new initiatives:

– Day Sessions.  More sessions means more films.

– New Awards. Best Film, Audience Choice, Best Director, Best Actor.

– Industry Judges.  More awards means we’re bringing in experienced industry figures to view the films and elect overall winners.

Of course, this means more prizes too.  But with an ever growing list of sponsors, and a dedicated team behind the scenes, we know MIM 2014 will be bigger and bolder than ever before.

And, as ever, there is bound to be more surprises along the way.

MIM 2014.  All local.  All Melbourne.  It’s good to be back.
