Here’s the release via [gaynewsnetwork]:
Goalpost Pictures, producers of The Sapphires, are inviting members of the LGBTI community to participate in the feature film Holding The Man.
To be directed by the acclaimed theatre and film director Neil Armfield, and adapted from the much-loved memoir and stage play of the same name, the film will be released in cinemas worldwide in 2015.
Producers are looking for people aged over 17 to volunteer as background extras for a day.
“As the film is set in the 1970s, 80s and 90s, we are looking for people with conservative hair that we can work with – you know the looks,” producers said.
“No experience is necessary and there are no lines to learn. Unfortunately shaved hair, neck or facial tattoos and heavy facial piercings will exclude you.”
Dates are listed below.
Those interested and who fit the criteria are asked to email their name, phone number, selfie, height, clothes size and preferred day to [email protected]. Drag queens are asked to send a photo both in and out of drag.
Producers will then contact successful candidates with preferred dates.
“Please note that this is an unpaid volunteer opportunity for the LGBTI community to be part of an iconic Australian gay love story,” producers said.
