Now in its 11th year, Melbourne’s Bayside Film Festival kicks off on Wednesday 27 August at its new home, the Palace Dendy Brighton Cinemas in Church Street, Brighton. Opening with US thriller Cold in July, directed by Jim Mickle (Stake Land, We Are What We Are) and starring Michael C. Hall, Sam Shepard and Don Johnson.
Nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival and screening courtesy of Umbrella Entertainment, this genre-bending tale follows an average family man whose uneventful life erupts after he accidentally kills a home intruder.
The five-day festival comes to a close on Sunday, August 31, but not before taking in a fantastic line-up of first-release international movies, including Neil LaBute’s Some Velvet Morning, shorts and documentaries, with the latest films starring Christopher Plummer, Shirley MacLaine, Alan Rickman, Don Johnson, Stanley Tucci and many more.
We have 10 double Festival Session Passes on offer, valid for all sessions, excluding Opening Night (Wed 27 Aug) and Awards Night (Fri 29 Aug from 6pm onwards).
To scoop a pair, email us at [email protected] by end of Sunday August 24th, with Cold In Bayside in the subject and your full name in the body. Tickets will be left under your name for collection at the Palace Dendy Brighton Cinemas box office.
Open to Australian Lowdown Undererers only (probably Melburnians, unless you’re booking a holiday).
