Sam Raimi’s Ghost Pictures and MGM’s team up to reboot the supernatural horror which Fox 2000 (a subsidiary of 20th Century Fox) will distribute. Gil Kenan (Monster House) is on board to direct the remake and Raimi is producing. Kenan, I must admit, is an inspired chooice as Monster House was a deft blend of scares and comedy for kids.
This updated remake takes the original 1982 version and re-establishes it in modern day times where the Freeling family move into their new house in a housing estate. Whilst there the family comes under attack by a supernatural presence which sets off a roller coaster ride of scares and thrills.
The film is slated to release late 2014.
