Stephen King’s Yet To Be Published ‘Joyland’ Optioned By ‘The Help’ Director Tate Taylor

Joyland_510x816Tate Taylor strikes again! Much like he did with THE HELP, Taylor has optioned the film rights to Stephen King’s JOYLAND before the book has even before it has been published. Taylor has been granted the option to adapt the book and direct the film from King himself. Being that it is Stephen King by default the book will be a best seller and bang you’ve already got a built in audience for the film.

Synopsis: Set in a small-town North Carolina amusement park in 1973, Joyland tells the story of a college student who moonlights as a carnival worker. There, he confronts the legacy of a vicious murder, the fate of a dying child, and the ways both will forever change his life. – Deadline.

Taylor also has a biopic on James Brown in the works with Brian Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment.
