Ye Olde Middle Earthians rejoice as THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY smashes its way to $30m domestically today. With 13 days of business up its sleeve Bilbo and his bad dwarves for love (I dunno, Rose Tattoo was in my head) the film has averaged $2.3m a day in ticket sales since it opened.
The film also enjoyed the highest grossing opening day on Boxing Day in Australian Box Office History with $5m+… IN ONE DAY!!!
