The 2012 AACTA Award Nominations Announced!

Australia’s version of the Golden Globes I guess have announced their nominations for the best of 2012 in Film & Television. THE SAPPHIRES has scored majorly here (rightly so as it should win in every category it’s been nominated in) with 12 flags. MENTAL, WISH YOU WERE HERE and LORE tied for 8 nods each. MENTAL should pick up both Best Supporting Actor for LIEV SCHREIBER and Supporting Actress for REBECCA GIBNEY. 3D STORM SURFERS is up for 4 and that’s awesome and it should take out Best Doco and Doco Cinematography. Sadly KATH & KIMDERELLA and ANY QUESTIONS FOR BEN completely missed out…

REDFERN NOW is nominated for 6 flags and should really sweep the pool in the DRAMA TV series. The groundswell on the show is fantastic.

THE AACTA’s will be awarded on JANUARY 30, 2013 at the STAR EVENT THEATRE in Sydney.
