She’s A Soft Ol’ Weekend At The U.S. Box Office

My thanks to Deadline for the preliminary figures here. THE EXPENDABLES 2 holds #1 for the 2nd weekend in a row but thats only on a gross of $12.3m (translates to around $1.2m here in Australia). The openers PREMIUM RUSH (The Joseph Gordon Levitt Push Bike Courier Vehicle) HIT & RUN (Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell) and THE APPARITION (small release horror) were all flat out disasters with $5.6m, $4.3m and $3.2m respectively. As previously reported the expansion of the OBAMA doco pulled in a $5.7m weekend off 1091 prints. All in all a pretty damn soft weekend in the good ol U S of A.
