3D Katy Perry: Part Of Me – Australia Opens Softer Than Expected

3D KATY PERRY: PART OF ME got off to a softer than expected start yesterday pulling in $177k at the Aussie Box Office for the day which should put it on about $1.4m by the end of the week which is pretty much exactly what JUSTIN BIEBER: NEVER SAY NEVER did when it released.  JUSTIN BIEBER: NEVER SAY NEVER performed substantially softer than the staggering U.S. results for the film. It’s only early days for the film in Australia but we’ll be watching to see how she tracks.

As an idea JUSTIN BIEBER did $4.3m gross in Australia against a U.S. $73m gross – a pro rata of 5.89% (well under expectation).

The question begs – is her fan base as strong here as in the U.S.? I’d hazard a guess no but I also reckon if P!NK did one it would be a juggernaut here in Australia.

3D KATY PERRY: PART OF ME releases in the U.S. on Friday.
