Aza’s 2 Line Review – Brave – Like A Date With Delta Goodrem. It’s Oh So Pretty But There’s Not Much Going On There.

I am a big big Pixar fan (except for the CARS franchise) as they really do push animated story telling into new areas moreso than any other house. With BRAVE the animation itself is staggeringly beautiful, truly a gorgeous piece to look at, but how long can you look at a beautiful picture for before it gets tired? And it’s herein that I got a bit underwhelmed by BRAVE. The story.

The plus of it is that this narrative is about as close to a traditional Disney narrative that Pixar has ever done – it really is – and there’s nothing wrong with that at all except my expectation from the studio is that the story will meet the visual head on. But for me this one didn’t. It just lacks meat – but outside of that it’s a great inspirational tale for girls and a beautifully undemanding distraction for lovers of animation.

3D BRAVE is currently in release in AUSTRALIA through WALT DISNEY MOTION PICTURE STUDIOS
