Aza’s 2 Line Review – Safe House – The Bourne Identity Meets Enemy Of The State Kind Of. Denzel Pouts, Ryan Panders But It’s Fun.

This standard issue thriller is lifted by the central leads, Denzel does his usual stoic tough guy and its nicely balanced by Ryan Reynolds intensely manic performance. I noticed that in pretty  much every shot the camera is always moving, which adds to the urgency of it all while the ludicrousness of the plot unfolds.

The freeway chase sequence is quite an achievement and it’s been a long time since I’ve seen actual cars totalled with such abandon. Again Michael Bay would be feeling a bit jealous. SAFE HOUSE is fun distraction if instantly forgettable and there’s worse ways you could spend a couple of hours.

SAFE HOUSE releases on DOWNLOAD, BLU RAY and DVD in AUSTRALIA on 7 JUNE, 2012
