Aussie David Michod (Animal Kingdom) To Write & Direct ‘The Rover’

Animal Kingdom, the $5m box office crime flick that earned Jacki Weaver an Oscar nomination and world wide praise for writer director David Michod, was a crowning achievement in Aussie film making. Since then, Michod had been a bit of a hot property on the international scene with being offered directorial gigs such as the American production “Once Were Cops”.

News to hand sees that he and longtime friend and collaborator Joel Edgerton, are working on ‘The Rover’ which looks set to shoot later in the year. The story of a guy who goes looking for his stolen car as it contains something valuable to him. Michod is writing the script and no further news on the plot is available but I’ll be watching with keen interest in it!

If you haven’t seen ANIMAL KINGDOM you really should – it’s f*cking fabulous – and is available through BLU RAY, DVD and DOWNLOAD from MADMAN ENTERTAINMENT.
