I was actually surprised at how much I was laughing through this, not that I thought it wouldn’t be fun, I just had very low expectations of it being very funny. But it actually is – sure there’s the staple dick, fart, stoner and Korean Jesus jokes – but its in the chemistry of Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill that really makes it work – they bounce off each other really well.. And with the help of Michael Bacall (Project x) on screenplay duty – the zappiness and humour in the script is all on screen. Its load with references (and cameos) from the original TV series and keeps its all modern.
There’s a healthy franchise here in the making and if they can keep em at this level everything’s looking good down on Jump Street.
