Aza’s 2 Line Review – The Fray – Scars & Stories – Steadfast Emotional Pop Music. A Solid, High School Teen TV Show Anthemic Album

The one thing about THE FRAY you can never criticise them for is trying to be anything but who they are. This quartet of balladeers with a rock sensibility have never changed their approach to song writing and this 3rd album is a collection of tracks that will keep the fans well and truly happy and any newbies will find this a really accessible and easy album to listen to.

It’s unashamed radio friendly pop and bravo to the boys of THE FRAY for sticking to their guns. Whereas COLDPLAY pretend their “art” rockers (which guys you aren’t) and MAROON 5 pretend their arena rockstars (when they really are more of a novelty act with a chipmunk singer) – THE FRAY are who they are.

HEARTBEAT and THE FIGHTER are instantly accessible and likeable with echoes of YOU FOUND ME in the former. The lyrics are strong and heartfelt, catchy and plaintive in others and the production quality is a step up from their previous efforts.
