On a sprawling maximum security prison farm outside Baton Rouge, Louisiana, half a dozen prisoners are about to be immersed for three days in an “encounter with Christ.”
Will a rock guitarist, a gang banger from New Orleans’s Lower Ninth Ward, a self-styled prison theologian, a pedophile turned choir director, and a Muslim ex-football star encounter the possibility for redemption? Or will the experience do little to change these men in the long haul and fail to keep them from returning to prison?
