Star Wars: The Old Republic Gets An Aus NZ Release Date – March 1, 2012

Electronic Arts Australia have announced that March 1, 2012 is the official Australian and New Zealand release date for the long awaited game STAR WARS: THE OLD REPUBLIC.

IGN Australia reports:

“Our biggest priority for The Old Republic has always been to deliver a high quality product and high quality service and we are pleased with our results in North America and Europe,” said Dr. Greg Zeschuk, BioWare co-founder and general manager of the label’s MMO business unit. “We appreciate that our fans in these countries have been patient and we are excited to deliver this same great customer experience to players this March.”

Set 300 years after the events in Knights of the Old Republic (and featuring some familiar faces), Star Wars: The Old Republic will put players on either side of a massive war between the Republic and the Empire.

In Star Wars: The Old Republic, players will explore an age thousands of years before the rise of Darth Vader when war between the Old Republic and the Sith Empire divides the galaxy. Players can choose to play as Jedi, Sith, or a variety of other classic Star Wars roles, defining their personal story and determining their path down the light or dark side of the Force. Along the way, SWTOR players will befriend courageous companions who will fight at their side or possibly betray them, based on the players’ actions. Players can also choose to team up with friends to battle enemies and overcome incredible challenges.
