Guns N Roses, The Red Hot Chili Peppers & The Beastie Boys To Be Inducted Into The Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame

It a case of ‘it’s about time!’ legendary rock acts GUNS N’ ROSES, THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS & THE BEASTIE BOYS will be inducted into the American Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame on April 14, 2012. The announcement, made on December 7, 2011 (yep sorry I’m late but look I’ve been running around like a crazy person!) comes with other inductees DONOVAN, THE FACES and LAURA NYRO.

GUNS N’ ROSES was the seminal rock act of the late 80’s and 90’s who dominated the arena rock shows after the success of their first major studio album “Appetite For Destruction” and its follow up albums ‘Lies! Lies! Lies'” & “Use Your Illusion I & II’. Spawning a wall of classic songs like ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, ‘Paradise City’, ‘Sweet Child O Mine’, ‘Patience’, ‘November Rain’, ‘You Could Be Mine’, ‘Don’t Cry’, ‘Estranged’ and the seminal cover ‘Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door’. They were the dominant force in rock n roll. Their latter albums, the covers album “The Spaghetti Incident” in the late 90’s and ‘Chinese Democracy’ (2010) have been less successful. GN’R, during the course of their history, have had a tumultuous existence with their rebellious antics, constant line up changes and much publicised rows.

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, here’s a band that should’ve been inducted the day they formed. These guys have produced one of the worlds greatest ever albums, a rare one that in my dumb assed opinion will never  date, in BLOOD SUGAR SEX MAGIK. Their funky stylings, cheeky lyrics and catchy tunes have been renowned the world over and their live shows are just as spectacular. With 10 albums under their belt and their 2011 release ‘I’m With You’ still doing the rounds, the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS are a musical powerhouse that rightfully belong in the hall of fame.

THE BEASTIE BOYS would have to be one of the longest surviving Hip Hop acts around, they began their career as a punk band in 1979 before doing a variety of different styles until 1994 shot them into superstardom with the seminal album ILL COMMUNICATION. Since then this band, yes the creators of the monstrous hit ‘Sabotage’, has endured with legions of fans and produced diverse albums up to and including this years HOT SAUCE COMMITTEE PART TWO.
