When you go off and make a film, which is the 3rd in a series, which then in turn becomes the 4th highest grossing film of all time you can pretty much expect a sequel will get made.. And thus you can expect another edition, or should I say two editions into the Transformers franchise. Hasbro has hinted that they would like to make the films back to back, giving a quicker turn around in editions for release. Dark Of The Moon writer Ehren Kruger has apparently come up with ideas for both films and is in the process of finding writers. No word as yet if Michael Bay will return to direct the hugely expensive production, that pays off in spades, but Hasbro has said they would like to see him director the pictures. Variety is saying the decision to shoot them back to back is a budgetary one (which does make sense) and that Shia LaBeouf will not be returning and interest is in Jason Statham to take on the franchise. Thanks to Slashfilm for the heads up.
